They are keen to recruit an exceptional and strategically minded Managing Director to manage the venture capital fund based in Hong Kong.
Our client is a rare venture capital fund in early-stage investment in biotech companies. The Fund has its own team of world-renowned scientists with deep technical expertise. They have nearly 30 scientific consultant partners, with an average of 20 years of experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies and innovative pharmaceutical companies.

The Opportunity:

Our clients focus on the investment management of biopharmaceutical technology industry and innovative drug R&D companies. It manages RMB funds and USD funds, focusing on investing in the world’s first innovative drug R&D projects and biotech start-ups with great growth potential, helping them grow from 0 to 1, establishing innovative companies, and allowing products to successfully complete R&D from the conceptual stage. Commercialization, successfully entering the market, benefiting patients.
The current investment projects and reserve projects cover a variety of applicable disease fields that endanger human life and health, including a variety of cancers, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, gout, dry eye, skin diseases, etc., and genetic testing products. The research and development projects are either the first innovative drug in the field or the best of its kind. The first phase of the investment portfolio contains two listed companies and another two were bought out by the well-known big pharma companies through M&A, bringing more than 40 times return on investment.
Key duties & responsibilities as the Managing Director:
能带来国内外的deal资源，同各孵化器、医药研究机构、药企、CRO、VC、财务顾问等建立并保持良好关系 Deal sourcing: build and maintain global network of deal sources with constructive and cooperative working relationships (Incubators, research institutions, big pharmas, CROs, VCs, FAs, and more）
依据基金策略筛选项目，并借助专家团队，进行项目筛选，识别可投资机会 Screen deals with selection criteria set by the fund and identify investment opportunities with the support of partners
领导团队进行投前准备，包括市场分析、估值、风险评估、撰写投资备忘录、组织投决会等 ;主导项目谈判 Lead investment team with market analysis, valuation, risk assessment, investment memo, and organize IC meeting; negotiate on the key terms
建立并保持与被投企业创始人及管理团队的良好业务关系，监控和分析投资项目的经营管理，并及时提出业务拓展和管理改进的建议 Liaise with Investee companies, work closely with founders and management team; analyse and monitor investees’ key performance metrics and support with advices and business development strategies and improvement on management
维系良好的投资生态圈，有能力协助项目后续融资及退出 Build and maintain extensive and sound investment ecosystem, with the ability to support fundraising and exit of the investee companies
What we’re looking for:
生物/医学/药学等相关专业，知名院校博士学历，海外留学经历优先；Bachelor degree from an accredited university, majored in bioscience, medicine, pharmaceutics, etc. Ph.D. degree preferred. overseas study experience preferred.
全球知名药企或创新药企从业经验至少10年以上，早期药物研发或药企BD等经验，熟悉药物研发流程和开发难点，精通药品管线的布局 At least 10 years of work experience as R&D scientist or business development professionals in big pharmaceutical industries or biotech companies. Familiar with new drug R & D processes and risks, and be proficient in the construction of pipelines.
有一定经验的团队管理能力，曾带领过5-10人或以上的团队 Demonstrated strong leadership and team management skill; have led team more than 5-10 members.
能带来国内外的新项目资源，能帮助项目寻求后续融资的承接方 Independent deal souring ability home and abroad; with deal fundraising and exit resources.
中英文听说写熟练，能适应多文化工作环境 Fluent Mandarin Chinese and English (listening, writing, speaking); experience working in a multicultural environment
