We are on the hunt for an exceptional Branding/Marketing Director, with International / American (US) branding/marketing experience, to join an incredible company in the midst of international expansion as their US Branding/Marketing Director.


Our client, an international lifestyle beverage scale up, is looking to expand their brand in the US and take the coffee shop sector by storm!


As the US Marketing Director, you will be responsible for the development, strategy and execution of the marketing plan in the US; you will drive the business forward by implementing and developing impactful marketing strategies and you will play a key role in growing brand awareness.


We are looking for a creative, strategically minded and customer centric Director of Branding & Marketing, to lead the US Branding & Marketing team. In this key leadership role, the Director of Branding & Marketing will oversee the conception, development, planning and execution of the brand as well as driving a comprehensive program of 360 marketing campaigns — from strategic brief through creative conception and execution to content release.


This role will also collaborate closely with other products, experiential and marketplace leaders across the Cafe and eCommerce channels, focusing on the delivery of a structured, cross functional go-to-market campaign.


This new role needs someone with exceptional marketing skills; someone with a creative and innovative outlook coupled with experience working in a fast-paced, technology driven and forward-thinking organisation; someone who can demonstrate a strong track record in a commercially successful role.


You will be excited to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in, building your own US marketing team. You will be strategic, analytical and commercially minded, detailed and accurate yet also consumer focused; a leader, a mentor and a team player.

You will be part of a high performing team and will be instrumental in establishing the company as an ultimate player in the digitalization-to-customer new coffee shops.

Key responsibilities as the US Marketing Director will include:


  • Work with the team to create, develop and execute the Company’s brand vision

  • Lead the development of campaigns and marketing briefs to focus on defined business goals, including strategic vision, communication and messaging strategies, platform/channel strategies, collaborating with cross-functional partners to gather data and analytical insights to ensure overall campaign impact

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of marketing professionals

  • Partner closely with external agency ie creative and production studio to lead the development of compelling and effective content, providing clear creative brief, making sure impactful content is delivered and effective/constructive feedback given to agencies where necessary

  • Fully involved in the creative production of all the campaigns, attending shoots, events and other campaign activities as relevant

  • Measuring and reporting on performance of marketing initiatives. Provide regular, transparent reporting on campaign impact and ROI, highlighting effectiveness and learnings, coupled with a growth mindset

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project timelines and budgets to support marketing initiatives

  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, driving projects across teams and time zones

  • Managing agencies, vendors and contractors ensuring the delivery of campaigns on target, on time and on budget

  • Be intimately familiar with and champion for Blue Bottle Coffee’s core consumers

You have:


  • 8+ years of marketing experience, developing marketing campaigns for brand-led retail businesses or social media business

  • Strong track record of crafting successful, channel optimized, consumer-obsessed marketing campaigns executed across a variety of marketing vehicles: digital, ‘in-store’, social, experiential, etc.

  • Experience with content creation and production

  • Exceptional communication skills — oral, written, visual, data, etc

  • Collaborative and solutions-oriented — skilled at the art of influencing, negotiating and navigating complex situations to reach resolution

  • A deep love for great coffee, food, and extraordinary customer experience

  • A fun, creative and entrepreneurial spirit
